order prints

i'm in the process of making prints and custom framed prints available for purchase. the first set of photos listed below will be available in january, 2021. i expect to be offering the full portfolio and custom framed prints by spring, 2021.

prints only would need to be framed and/or matted by you. to protect the print, i suggest using a low glare glass or plastic. few prints are in a standard size ratio which will probably require a custom made frame. i recommend using a reputable frame shop to do this work.

when frames are available, i will post more details here. i use salvaged (reclaimed, barn wood), and local rough-milled wood to make rustic frames without glass. a clear varnish is applied to protect the print. see making frames for more details.

i prefer you see the prints in person before ordering. prints do not look like the photos as seen on a monitor or screen. (see prints and monitors and screens for more details why.) i realize this makes it difficult if you are not close by. i can send a greeting card size or larger proof copy by mail.

the sizes listed below are the image. there are several inches of border in order to frame and matte. these are the standard sizes i have ready to print. i generally do not make prints smaller than this size. it is not fair to the photo.

i do make my own prints and can do a custom size. this will add to the price listed below based on how much time is involved. this is a high quality, large format inkjet printer that prints on 44" rolls up to 16' wide. i like doing large prints as they fit the nature of vast panoramic landscapes. see making prints for more details.

prints are made on one of several high quality papers depending on the photo. my current favorites are from the hahnamulle fine art line: photo rag; bamboo; hemp; agave. (these are not the traditional glossy photo papers, which why it's best to see a print in person.) i'm a paper geek (see ink on paper). matching a photo to a paper is one of the joys of this creative process. if you want to talk paper, send an email.

photos are printed when ordered. it may take a few days to a few weeks depending on the order and my schedule. i have a very full time chinese medicine practice which is my first priority. i also spend a lot of time out wandering the backcountry taking photos. i don't do any rush orders.
